Excell Quilts are designed and handcrafted in the Somerset countryside by textile artist Kayleigh Excell.

Combining traditional quilting techniques with a contemporary design approach, my work draws on the simplicity and character of folk art. Using curved piecing, machine quilting and hand-sewn appliqué, I create textile art inspired by landscape, wildlife and a sense of place.

After years living in London and working in the corporate world, I found my way to textile art through quilting. What began as a self-taught practice has evolved into Excell Quilts.

I live and work in the Somerset countryside, where the surrounding landscape informs my practice. Bringing together traditional craft, colour and composition, I create contemporary textile art for thoughtful spaces.
