Your textile art may arrive with light creasing, particularly after long-distance shipping. This is normal and can be smoothed with an iron on the cotton setting.
Smaller quilts are ready to hang and include a 10mm wooden dowel, which can be placed on a hook, screw or nail. For larger pieces, a wooden dowel can be purchased separately.
Cleaning
Handle your textile art gently. Cotton fabrics naturally collect dust and lint, so clean the surface regularly with a lint roller or soft lint brush, taking care around the edges and hanging sleeve.
Do not machine wash. Washing can cause shrinkage and colour bleeding. Stains should be spot cleaned instead:
Lightly mist the area with deionised water.
Gently dab with a clean microfibre cloth.
For stubborn stains, use a small amount of mild detergent.
Rinse by lightly spraying with deionised water and dab dry.
Repeat if necessary.
After cleaning, press the area gently with a clean towel to remove excess moisture. Allow the quilt to air dry flat on a towel or on a clean line. Do not tumble dry, as heat can shrink the fabric and weaken the threads.
Ironing
If the piece becomes creased, iron it on the cotton setting using a clean iron plate and deionised water in the steam tank.
Iron the back first, then gently press the front. Use minimal pressure around the edges, hanging sleeve and label.
